Ngamba Island

Lake Mburo National Park.
Lake Mburo National Park is situated along the Kampala –Mbarara highway. It has dotted numerous lakes surrounded by swamps providing  habitat for water logged bird species and wild game. Impala, Zebras, Buffaloes, Topis and Kiplisinger  are common sight in this park. A boat ride combined with a game drive will yield best results. Birders can record highest number of water logged species. This park can be done in 1 day’s excursion.

RWENZORI
This fascinating  mountains area in the western Rift Valley is one  of the  country’s prime attractions. Ruwenzori’s   features   include  geothermal activity ,  numerous lakes and  jagged, block  mountains   known as the ‘’ mountains of the  moon’’. Astride the  mountains sits  Ruwenzori  National park  (formerly queen Elizabeth National park) home  to lions and elephants, many  hippos, buffalo and  other  animals it’s fantastic place   trek, and the mubuku  valley  Restaurant, next to park headquaters, offers the only potato pancakes  in the country .  165 mi/ 256 km west of  kampala .

BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
Opened in 1993, Bwindi  has  more  mountain  gorillas than any other  park in  Africa __ about half the world’s population of these  animals  The park was closed following the murder of eight tourists by Rwandan terrorists in  1999 but has since reopened under extra security. Package tours are  the best way  to vist—guides  are  experts at  locating  the  elusive gorillas. Be prepared to hike through very  rugged  country and bring  fast film – the forests where the gorillas
