RWANDA TOUR

Day 1
Meet on arrival at airport and transfer to Kigali. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Mill Collins or Hotel Chez Lando (BD).(to drive strait to Nyungwe  on arrival will require you arriving in the morning not later than 9.00am (local time)
Day 2
Drive to  Nyungwe Forest National Park. Along the way, make stops at places of interest including local markets, the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza. Birding on the way. Approximate driving time 7 hours  overnight  at ORTPN Gisakura Guest House (FB).
Day 3
Go on an escorted walk ½ day in search of the large groups of colobus monkeys and birds including the Rwenzori turaco.  Return late afternoon. Overnight  ORTPN Guest House - Gisakura (FB).
Day 4
Morning do guided nature walk in the forest to  track chimps and see a variety of animals and some of the three hundred bird species found here. Picnic lunch. Birding around  the hot springs in Rugarama, time permitting. Return late afternoon   overnight Gisakura Guest House (FB).
Day 5
This morning you will drive to Gisenyi to  Lake Kivu arriving in the evening. Dinner and over night at either Kivu Sun Hotel  F/B. (8 hours)
Day 6
Have a morning boat trip on the lake, drive along the lake to Gisenyi and later to Ruhengeri.Drive to Volcanoes  national park  north to Kinigi via Ruhengeri. Enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is well known. (3 hours). Overnight at  Gorilla Nest Hotel (FB).
Day 7
Go gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans (subject to permit availability at the time of booking). Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest of the Virungas is a magical experience. If you are lucky you can get to the gorillas, spend an hour with them, and be back at the base in time for a late lunch! Some gorilla families however are more elusive, and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. O/N (FB).
Day 8
Either go 2nd gorilla tracking again in Parc National des Volcans (on payment of 2nd gorilla permit at the  time of booking), or visit the golden monkeys or drive to  or climb the Visoke/Muhavura volcanoes, or trek to Dian Fossey's grave, or visit the local school, community projects or walk to Lake Bulera. O/N: (FB). Gorilla tracking van be combined on the same day with Lake Bulera and Ruhondo for sight seeing.
Day 9
Morning drive to Kigali. Time permitting; go for a tour of the city including a visit to the market, a pottery project, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre and a genocide memorial. Transfer to the airport (HB).
